what your philanthropy can help us achieve

Education has the power to change the world. With your support, we will establish the world’s first online education platform for people who want to learn how to achieve social justice.

It takes time, money, and resources to produce great educational content which people can learn from.

Your contributions will enable us to pay a team of teachers, filmmakers, directors, producers, editors, animators, copywriters, designers, strategists, social media professionals at least a living wage. It will cover costs including office space, studio space, filming equipment, data storage, insurance, legal, and accounting.

If we raise £150,000 we will have a runway of 12 months. This will give us time to produce and distribute educational content, and raise our next round of £1.7m.

We believe everyone should be able to learn how to create change, and that is why we want to make our education free.

Therefore, we would not be able to do this without your financial contributions and support.

Your donation will help us share the lessons and experiences of campaigners, innovators, pioneers, activists, and leaders so that they can go on and address the major problems of our time and help make society fairer.

Your donation will help us start our journey towards reaching our mission to teach 10,000 people how to impact the lives of 100,000 people so that 1 billion people’s lives are improved.

Your donation will help us create a world where people can learn the skills, tools, strategies, and tactics that have changed the world, so that anyone can make a difference.

frequently asked questions

What is the School of Social Justice?

An online education platform for people who want to learn how to address society’s major problems.

Who is involved?

The school is founded and led by Alvin Carpio, a campaigner who has fought for social justice for over two decades. We have a team of creative talent who produce and edit video content, an events team, and a team of strategic advisors. You can see a list of team members on our about page.

Where is the school located?

We publish our content on this website and on YouTube.

What methods will the school use?

First we will launch a video podcast. These are conversations with changemakers which uncover their impact, how they achieved change, what challenges they faced, and what lessons they learned.

What traction has the school had so far?

We have filmed 30 interviews with 30 inspirational changemakers who have created laws, built movements, and influenced culture. They are from multiple sectors and industries, and come from diverse backgrounds with a variety of perspectives.

We have recruited a team of creatives who have directed and produced educational content for an international audience.

How has the school been funded so far?

We received a small grant from the Churchill Fellowship. Most of it has been funded by Alvin Carpio’s personal contributions and voluntary contributions.

How will the school become financially sustainable?

We will seek support from patrons through monthly supporter contributions, similar to the Patreon model.

Why should I donate?

If you believe in the cause, the mission, and the vision, we ask for your support. For without it, the school will no longer exist.

When will the educational content be available?

We will start publishing the first video podcast series of 30 videos to the public in Spring 2022. One episode will be launched every week on Tuesday at 16:00 GMT. If we raise £150,000 to extend our runway, and to produce more content, we will start producing the second series of video podcasts. If we are able to raise £1.7m, we will be able to produce studio-quality masterclasses.

What makes you different from other schools?

We are digital first, and we are focused on creating educational content which teaches the practical how-tos of achieving social justice. There is no other education platform in the world that does that.

What impact does the school seek to achieve?

Our mission is to teach 10,000 people how to impact the lives of 100,000 people each, so that 1 billion people’s lives are improved.

What is the long term vision?

We strive to create a world where people can learn the skills, tools, strategies, and tactics that have changed the world, so that anyone can make a difference.
